International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year and today 08-03-2016 google doodle is all for appreciation of women of which the video and picture is posted here. This day is celebrated with a show of respect, appreciation, and love towards women who have achieved the impossible in the field of  economics, politics, and other many social achievements facing several hardships and sometimes even discrimination. Internet giant Google posted a video on its home page in which some women are seen sharing their future goals, aspirations, confidently completing the sentence "One day I will>>>>". The International Women’s Day, celebrated on March 8, is a global event aimed at inspiring women and celebrating their achievements.

Liat Ben Rafael, who co-created the doodle,has said to a reputed news channel that it was important to her to feature real women in the video to make this day more special rather than animated characters that are often seen. Celebrating the real women who work for world's better future was the main theme behind this IWD 2016 google doodle and also went on to say that this doodle is a tribute to many countless unsung heroes ie real women who have worked tirelessly for the betterment of this planet

Liat is the Program Manager of the Google Doodle team, which has created over 2,000 doodles on every special day be it a great event in history or about a great person or any thing that has done a positive imapct to this world on Google's homepages around the world. 




With Liat's leadership the team has committed to gender balance in Doodles and took a stand on some important subjects such as the Winter Olympics (Times: Google Doodle upholds gay rights), International Women's Day (Forbes: today's Doodle will make history), Berlin Wall and more. 

Liat also manages the Doodle 4 Google competition, the one opportunity every year for kids to take over the Doodle spot on the homepage and win scholarships and technology grants for their schools.
