The director of this movie Nagraj Manjule is very famous for directing the National Award-winning short film Pistulya. 


He then wrote and directed his first full length film named Fandry which also was a super hit. 

He is a writer and a poet and has published a book of poetry in Marathi called Unhachya Katavirudhha which won very prestigious award called " Bhairuratan Damani Sahitya Puraskar.



At the 61st National Film Awards, Fandry won the Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Film of a Director while Somnath Awghade was awarded with best child actor prize. 



And also his First Short Film Pistulya won Best First Non-Feature Film and Special Mention For the Suraj Pawar at 58th National Film Awards....He has also acted in movies namely Highway, Silence, Baji etc

 The music of this film is by Ajay-Atul director-composer duo of brothers Ajay and Atul Gogavale are very famous for their unique style of composition fully marathy fleded.

The lead actress of this movie Rinku Rajguru has received a Special Mention Acting Award at the 63rd National Awards.
